Ages 12 - 13 years old

Official O.B.A. rules shall apply.  Exceptions are stated below.

 1.     - Games shall be seven (7) innings or two (2) hours in length (whichever comes first).

- A new inning will start if the previous inning ends before curfew.

- In the event of a tied score, one more inning may be played if time (curfew) and light conditions permit play.  If the score is remains tied, the game shall be called and declared a tie.

A minimum of Seven (7) players is required to field a team.  Any team that cannot field seven (7) or more players must follow the Default Procedure.

“Any team that cannot field 7 or more players at the appointed start time will be granted a 15 minute grace period.  However, the time limit will be imposed as if the game started at the appointed time.  After the grace period has elapsed, any team with less than 7 players will follow the Default Procedure.”

2.     The mercy rule of six (6) runs per inning for the 1st 5 innings will apply.  Innings 6 & 7 are open innings with no mercy.

A game called due to weather or darkness after three (3) complete innings, is considered a game played.  (Two and one half (2 1/2) innings if the home team is winning)  The game counts.

3.      Only one player is allowed in the on deck circle at any given time.

4.    All players MUST play a minimum of two (2) innings on defence. No player shall sit for two innings until all  players have sat for one inning each, with the exception of the starting pitcher.

5.    The Division Convenor shall deal with non-compliance of this rule and a defaulted game shall be charged to the offending team.

6.    The coach is allowed one visit to the mound per inning. A second visit means the pitcher must be removed from the pitching position.

7.    A player leaving the game due to injury does not become an out in the batting line-up. The spot is simply by-passed.  (NOTE:  this is also true for an ejection.)

The next batter in the line-up, assumes the count of the injured batter, if replacing the player injured at bat.

8     A protest based on having only one umpire will not be accepted .

9.         A Courtesy Runner may be used for an injured player.  With two out, a Courtesy Runner MUST be used when the catcher for the next inning is on base.  The last recorded out shall be the Courtesy Runner.

10.     The OBA Contact rule (P2-13) shall be in effect.

Pitcher’s may pitch twelve (12) consecutive outs.

The OBA Balk interpretation shall apply, however because of the age and skill levels involved, only the very blatant move to deceive the runner will be called and only after the Umpire has cautioned the pitcher and coach of the infraction.
